Day trader, night coder.
Trent's Instagram
This site serves as a place for me to host my projects, upload my thoughts, and share what would otherwise be posted on social media.
For those of you that know me, you know you can't find me on most social media after 2016. So if you want to see what my instagram looks like today, you'll have to email me for a password.
If you're here because I lost your money, well you're in luck! You can find out just how I did that at one of the two fund pages below. If you landed here and have no idea what you're looking at, versions of old sites can be found in the archive.
My name is Trent Rand. I was born in 1995 in Ottawa and now live in Toronto. As the name suggests; I'm a good coder, a bad trader, and a worse gamer.
I studied Computer Engineering (B.Eng) at Ryerson University. I'm a full stack developer who's become completely absorbed by equity and capital markets. I've worn many hats over the years and this new site is a refocus and preservation of what I've accomplished so far in this journey we all call life.
Nowadays, I mess around with trading robots.
We're still under construction as I get some of the backends reconnected to the new domain and server. Moving from 4 Google Cloud Services accounts down to 1 has been quite the battle.
My Thesis Project for my B.Eng Degree.
Pretty boring stuff, just using machine learning and natural language processing to identify and predict the interests of Twitter users.
Hosted here because otherwise it'll die in a filing cabinet in my basement apartment.
A non-quant equity derivatives trading strategy.
Based on great work over at Squeeze Metrics and their recent copycat Spot Gamma.
Wanna see some other stuff I made? Most of it is quant these days...
I'm a big believer in privacy. I'm also a believer that a life off social media is a happier one. Unfortunately, it can be tough as a Full Stack developer to go through life without leaving a footprint on the internet. You won't find me active on most social media. You can find me at these places though.
One day I'll get icons for all these...
If you feel like you're missing out, send me an email!
I'm happy to give out passwords to anyone! trent.rand@pm.me
